Was starting catcher for the 1991 California Dist. 10 Babe Ruth All-Stars, finished ranked #8 in the state, and won 3 championships on the way. Received team awards for Most Outstanding Defensive player.
Coached Cal Ripken All-Star team with former Brewers catcher Jason Belcher.

2002 – Present: Dave played professional baseball with the Fargo Moorhead Red Hawks and in the LA Dodgers Minor league system. He has worked with instructors like Rick Honeycutt, who is the current pitching coach in the Major Leagues with the Dodgers.
1999 – Walked on with an invite only tryout for the Fargo Moorhead Red Hawks. Played one full season with the Red Hawks.
2000 – Signed with the LA Dodgers during spring training with the Red Hawks. Dave was pitching against the St. Paul Saints and they signed him one week later.
2000 – Played in single A with the LA Dodgers for part of the season and won a World Series.
